Estate-law firm shuts doors to join larger player

Akron's Kaufmann & Kaufmann lawyers joins Buckingham Doolittle & Burroughs. Akron, Ohio-based law firm Kaufmann & Kaufmann has joined the Akron office of Buckingham Doolittle & Burroughs. Buckingham Doolittle says the addition of Kaufmann's three attorneys enhances its trust and estate capabilities.

The new Buckingham Doolittle attorneys are Philip Kaufmannn, Loma Swett, and Steven Mutersbaugh. Joining them from Kaufmann & Kaufmann are two paralegals, a law clerk, and an administrative assistant.

Beyond trusts and estates

Kaufmann -- the man, not the firm -- says that joining up with Buckingham Doolittle lets him and his colleagues provide their clients a wider range of legal services. Buckingham Doolittle has been around since 1913. In addition to its Akron headquarters, the firm has offices in Canton, Cleveland, and Columbus in Ohio, and in Boca Raton and West Palm Beach in Florida. -FWR
